Indianapolis, Ind. Teams Advance to 2013 US Youth Soccer Region II Championships

FRISCO, Texas (June 3, 2013) – By winning the recent US Youth Soccer Indiana State Championships, Indianapolis, Ind. area soccer teams have qualified to compete in the US Youth Soccer Region II (Midwest) Championships, presented by the National Guard.

The teams will be among the 212 top US Youth Soccer boys and girls teams from the 13 US Youth Soccer State Associations competing for the regional title, June 22-26 at the US Youth Soccer Region II Championships at James W. Cownie Sports Complex in Des Moines, Iowa. Daily reports and complete results from the tournament will be available on http://Championships.USYouthSoccer.org/RegionII.
 
The Region II Championships feature top teams in the Under-13 through Under-19 age groups, beginning with round robin games Saturday, June 22, through Monday, June 24, and semifinal matches Tuesday, June 25. The Region II Champions will be crowned following final games on Wednesday, June 26.
 
US Youth Soccer State Cup champions and select runners-up from 13 State Associations in Region II, including host Iowa Soccer Association will participate. The other State Associations represented are Indiana, Illinois, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Ohio North, Ohio South, South Dakota and Wisconsin.
 
Regional winners of the Under-13 through Under-19 age groups earn a berth to the 2013 US Youth Soccer National Championships, presented by the National Guard, July 23-28, at Overland Park Soccer Complex in Overland Park, Kan. One of the 14 national crowns awarded is the James P. McGuire Cup, the oldest trophy in youth sport dating back to 1935 with the inaugural youth championships.
