
Kansas Teams Advance to 2017 US Youth Soccer Region II Championships
FRISCO, Texas (June 9, 2017) – By winning the US Youth Soccer Kansas State Championships, the following teams have qualified to compete in the 2017 US Youth Soccer Region II (Midwest) Championships.

The attending teams will be among the 224 top US Youth Soccer Boys and Girls teams from the 14 US Youth Soccer State Associations competing for the regional title, June 23-28 at the US Youth Soccer Region II Championships at Yankton Trail Park in Sioux Falls, S.D. Daily reports and complete results from the tournament will be available on http://Championships.USYouthSoccer.org/RegionII.
The Region II Championships will feature top teams in the 13U through 19/20U age groups. Preliminary games will take place Friday, June 23 through Sunday, June 25. After a rest day on Monday, semifinal matches will follow on Tuesday, June 27. The Region II Champions will be crowned following final games on Wednesday, June 28.
US Youth Soccer State Cup champions and select runners-up from 14 State Associations in Region II, including host South Dakota State Soccer Association will participate. The other State Associations represented are Illinois, Iowa, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio North, Ohio South and Wisconsin.
Regional winners of the 13U through 19/20U age groups earn a berth to the 2017 US Youth Soccer National Championships, held July 24-30 at the Toyota Soccer Center in Frisco, Texas. One of the 14 national crowns awarded is the James P. McGuire Cup, the oldest trophy in youth sport dating back to 1935 with the inaugural youth championships.
