GERMANTOWN, Md. (July 21, 2014) — US Youth Soccer will provide ongoing live coverage of the 2014 US Youth Soccer National Championships, presented by the National Guard, with more than 80 live games available next week. The National Championships will begin Tuesday, July 22 with first games scheduled for 8 a.m. ET.
“Every year US Youth Soccer looks to provide more to best highlight the achievements of these youth athletes as they reach the highest level of play for male and female players in the United States,” said Todd Roby, director of marketing and communications for US Youth Soccer. “A few years ago we launched live scoring on our championships website and then began broadcasting the storied Under-19 Boys McGuire Cup. This year, proving once again the commitment of US Youth Soccer to the game, we are taking live to another level with over 80 games showcasing our athletes as they make the most of their moment.”
All live games will be available at no cost and in high definition, with commentators calling the action to further showcase the nation’s top athletes. Each of the 14 National Championship final matches, as well as broadcasts from several games each day throughout group play and the semifinals, will allow family, friends, scouts and fans live access to the moments that make the championships youth soccer’s highest achievement. Pool play will take place July 22-24 and feature 96 teams playing three games each, with matches from select fields streamed live throughout the three days. As the field narrows to 28 finalists vying for the National Championship on Saturday, July 26 and Sunday, July 27, live broadcasts will be available as each team aims to complete the final step of its journey and write its name in the history of youth soccer.

Each summer, the US Youth Soccer National Championship Series crowns the boys and girls National Champion in seven age groups (Under-13 through Under-19). The finals are a culmination of a year-long series of competitions at the state and regional levels which provides approximately 185,000 players on over 10,000 teams from 55 US Youth Soccer State Associations the opportunity to showcase their soccer skills against the best competition in the nation.
