How they got to Nationals
The MSC Coyotes won the Maryland State Cup by scoring 14 goals in four games without conceding a goal in the tournament. The Coyotes defeated SAC United Premier 1-0 in the finals to advance regionals. The Coyotes continued their undefeated streak at the Region I Championships, scoring 15 goals and again preventing their opponents from scoring in five games. The Coyotes defeated NJ Crush FC Dynamite in penalty kicks in the finals.

Region II: Ambassadors FC (OH-N)
How they got to Nationals
The Ambassadors placed second in the 2012 Midwest Regional League Red Division with a 6-1 record and won the Ohio-North State Cup. At the 2012 Region II Championships, the Ambassadors went 2-1 in the divisional stage with a 12:3 goal differential. The Ambassadors won their semifinals game 4-3, and won the finals game against KCU Rangers (KS) in penalty kicks.

Region III: TNFC 98 Azzurri (TN)
How they got to Nationals
TNFC won the Tennessee State Cup by scoring 10 goals in three games while only conceding one in the final against FC Alliance 98 Black. TNFC averaged three goals a game and didn't give up a goal in the knockout stage of the 2012 Region III Championships. TNFC beat Liverpool 98 Elite (N-TX) 2-0 in the finals.

Beach FC quallified to the 2012 Region IV Championships via the Far West Regional League. Beach FC lost in the quarterfinals of the Cal-South State Cup to the eventual runner-up, Legends FC. Beach FC allowed only one goal in the entire Region IV tournament and scored 14 of their own en route to a Region IV Championship.
