How they got to Nationals
BRYC started the 2011 Fall Season by winning the Virginia State Cup scoring 19 goals in four games and defeating McLean Fury Green 3-0 in the finals. After a challenging and competitive National League season in which BRYC finished with 2 losses and 5 ties and with both losses being 1-goal games, the team went on to finish first in the Region One Premier League, South Division, and then won the Region One Premier League playoffs. BRYC continued their dominance at the 2012 Region I Championships with a 12:2 goal differential overall and defeated Alleycat Lynx (E-NY) 3-0 in the semifinals and won against fellow National League competitor Match Fit Chelsea Beat (NJ) 2-0 in the finals.

United was the Ohio-North State Cup runner-up to Internationals 95 Red, and qualified to the 2012 Region II Championship as a state wildcard. United went undefeated at the Region II Championships and exacted their revenge on Internationals in the finals with a 1-0 victory.

How they got to Nationals
CESA won the South Carolina State Cup by scoring 12 goals and conceding none in three games. CESA defeated SCUFC 2-0 in the state finals. At the 2012 Region III Championships, CESA only gave up one goal in the entire tournament and scored 14 of their own. CESA defeated OFC 96 (OK) in a shootout, going nine shooters deep to punch their tickets to the National Championships.

MVLA Lightning qualified for the 2012 Region IV Championship via the Far West Regional League. Lightning went 5-0 in the first round while scoring 14 goals and only allowing two. In the second round, Lightning went 2-0-1 with a 6:1 goal differential to win the league. At the Region IV Championships, Lightning lost their first game 3-0 to Beach FC (CA-S) but rebounded to go undefeated through the rest of the tournament. Lightning defeated Sereno 96 White North (AZ) 1-0 in the finals.
